10 Stinging Nettle Recipes and Uses

I already wrote about what is stinging nettle and what benefits it has for the human body. Now, I want to share many useful and interesting recipes with stinging nettle that are used in traditional medicine.

Since nettle is not used fresh, just prepared, these few recipes will help you reap the benefits of it.

With each recipe, there will be a brief description of what is used in folk medicine.

1. Stinging Nettle Juice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg fresh leaves from stinging nettle
  • Honey

Instructions:

  1. Wash the leaves.
  2. Blend them in a blender.
  3. Put the obtained mixture into a cloth or gauze and squeeze the juice.
  4. Store in a glass bottle in a cool, dark place.

Use:

Drink it with honey at 3-4 tablespoons daily. Or use it as mouthwash if used against angina and inflamed gums.

Instructions:

  2. Drain the juice through a cloth or gauze.
  3. Add the honey and cook for another 15 minutes.
  4. Store in a glass bottle in a cool, dark place.

Use:

Drink 3-4 tablespoons daily. You can also dissolve them in a glass of water if desired.

3. Stinging Nettle Extract Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 100 grams stinging nettle leaves
  • 1L water

Instructions:

  3. Allow the juice to boil on water steam in a shallow pan until thick as honey.

Note:

If you do not have fresh, you can also use dried leaves. But instead of 100g, use 50g.

  • 15 grams oregano
  • 500 ml water
